Just got back from a wonderful weekend stay at Stratton Brook Hut, where my wife and I enjoyed the hut with old friends and made new ones. What a great catalyst for happiness: friends, warm, quality accommodations, good food, an environmental mission and message, and the wonderful staff,represented so ably and friendly by Amanda. The views are among the best in Maine and everyone should support this grand idea-there is everything right about it: education, health, sustainability and friendship.
We stayed at Stratton and Flagstaff. The views and foliage were spectacular. The Hut stays were excellent and the office crew were very helpful
Decided to head out for the long Columbus Day weekend but had not made any specific plans. Decided to try Flagstaff Hut for openings/availability to explore foliage and nearby hiking. A space was available so I headed up and had a great visit. Beautiful foliage and great hiking.
We've been waiting since the winter to get up to the huts, and we finally found a free weekend for a quick overnight at Stratton Brook. Our trip was amazing, with wonderful weather, great views of the fall foliage, and amazing food and company at the hut. The Huts and Trails Board members were also staying the night, and we loved chatting with them and learning more about the mission of the organization- everyone was super friendly and welcoming.
We had a wonderful trip! We stayed in the Grand Falls Hut and hiked in from the Big Eddy trailhead. The hike was beautiful and had many photogenic places to stop, especially with the foliage in its peak! The staff at the hut was friendly and welcoming and the food and big campfire were just what we needed after a long day on the trails. All of the trails were well groomed and easy to follow with adequate signage. We already have recommended Maine Huts and Trails to family and friends!
We loved our time on the trails and in the huts! I wish we could have spent a few nights at Flagstaff.
