Trip Description 

Guided Hike to Poplar Stream Falls

Venturing out into the winter wilderness can sometimes be intimidating... take away all uncertainties you may have on a guided hike to the first eco-lodge in our system. Meet Sue Davis, MHT's Volunteer Coordinator and history extraordinaire, at the Airport Trailhead at 10:30 and follow her on an adventure through Maine's Winter Wonderland! Learn the story about our organization and the surrounding area as you travel among snow-covered pines and along trickling streams and frozen waterfalls.

A hot and scrumptious lunch, with a variety of regional craft beer and wine, along with coffee and hot cocoa, will be available for purchase from 11:30 to 1:30. Following the lunch period, a presentation will be given by a member of the hut crew, Connor, about Maine's commitment to providing quality, locally sourced food to the coming generations. Connor grew up on a family farm and winery in California, is a graduate of Bowdoin College, and is an expert on sustainable food production and dynamic farming practices.

This is a great opportunity for an introduction to our system of trails and eco-lodges and is a fantastic weekend activity for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds!
