Intermediate Cross Country Ski to Stratton Brook Hut

The weather Saturday, February 15th was perfect for our guided intermediate ski up to Stratton Brook Hut! Maine Guide Sam lead the ambitious crew on the gorgeous snowy trails to our highest elevation hut, where warm food and drinks awaited them.

Campbell Field is a day-use trailhead with excellent access to the Narrow Gauge Pathway. The Pathway connects to multiple Maine Huts trails. Distance to Crommett’s Overlook trail is approximately 3 miles on a wide groomed and tracked trail.

The scenic and sloping Crommett’s Overlook Trails offer a milder ascent to Stratton Brook Hut. The trail follows the ridgeline, with gorgeous views of Sugarloaf and various other 4,000 footers on the way up. If the snow is not too deep, the picnic table at Crommett’s Overlook is great spot for a snack break.

The crew arrived at Stratton Brook Hut for a warm lunch and hot coffee break. After a warmup, the return was an easy cruise down Newton’s Revenge Trail, and a short ski back to the Campbell Field Trailhead. Thank you for a great Saturday ski!
