Testimonial: Had the Best Time at the Flagstaff Hut

What a great backcountry hut. The common room is so comfortable with a deluxe woodstove, couches and communal tables. The bunk rooms are private, which is unique among these lodges. We enjoyed our own room. It was about 15 degrees out, and the room was likely about 55 degrees, which was perfect for our three season bags. The beds have mattresses which are adequate and pillows (of which you need to bring pillowcases). The meals were excellent. We had a frittata for breakfast, a tasty wrap for lunch, and a Thai inspired tofu and vegetable dish. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and still low key at the same time. We had a chance to explore the area around the hut by snowshoe. There were lots of animal tracks, but most exciting were otter tracks and slides in a wetland (iced in) near the hut. Super great experience.
