Sam Shirley — Youth and Community Program Manager
Growing up in northeastern Massachusetts, Sam fell in love with Maine during the summers spent at his family’s camp near Baxter State Park. In 2018, he moved to Farmington to attend college at the University of Maine Farmington, and instantly knew that he wanted to make the area his home. In 2022, he graduated UMF with a degree in Outdoor Recreation Business Administration, and has worked across the region at places including Black Mountain of Maine, Mainely Outdoors, Freeman Ridge Bike Park, and the High Peaks Alliance. During his free time, you will likely find him skiing, biking, camping, or hiking in some remote corner of Maine’s Western Mountains, often with his wife and dog. Sam currently resides in Wilton and is a Registered Maine Recreational Guide, an Eagle Scout, a committee member and volunteer with the High Peaks Alliance, and a member of the Foothills Land Conservancy.
