The best après on the mountain returns this March! Join Big Tree Catering and Maine Huts & Trails for our biggest event fundraiser of the year on March 1st. Get ready for an adventure! Ski, snowshoe, or fat bike up to Stratton Brook Hut and enjoy a feast fit for any mountaineer. Homemade comfort food featuring noshing stations of boozy hot chocolate, charcuterie boards, homemade hot dogs, fresh shucked oysters, and more. This daytime event will run 11am to 2pm. Attendees should come ready for a variety of delicious foods!

Trailheads: Stratton Brook/Rte 27 Trailhead offers the shortest, but steepest, trek of 3.1 miles up Newton’s Revenge. Looking for a gentler slope? Crommett’s Overlook Trail via the Airport Trailhead is longer at 4.7 miles, but a more gradual climb. Visit our trails to the huts page for full info.
Getting to the hut: Attendees must be able to access the event by snowshoe, ski, or fat biking between 3 and 4.7 miles. There is no motorized transportation to the huts.
Amenities: Stratton Brook Hut is a modern eco-lodge, offering radiant floor heating, wood stoves, comfortable couches, communal eating areas, modern composting toilets, hot water, and more. In addition to the great food from Big Tree, hot coffee and tea will be provided. Beer, wine, cider, and more available for purchase. Full hut amenities list may be found here.
