Testimonial: Hut-to-Hut Snowshoeing Wonderland

We had a fantastic time snowshoeing between Flagstaff and Poplar huts, two of the 4 huts on the Maine huts and trails circuit. It was several spectacular days of hiking topped off with cozy bunkhouses (we requested private rooms), delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner prepared by the staff, and a warming wood stove. The huts — more like wilderness lodges — are cutting edge, off-the-grid constructions with solar power, composting toilets, and all-local construction. The trails are well signed and well maintained, and the hike through the snow and along frozen Flagstaff lake was unbeatable. If you get the chance, visit Maine Huts and Trails.
