River Valley Charter School Visits Flagstaff Lake Hut

Last week, seventh graders from River Valley Charter School in Newburyport, Massachusetts ended their school year with a visit to Flagstaff Lake Hut! Students enjoyed fishing, Frisbee, Wiffle ball, and relaxing in the hut during their stay. They split up into teams and tested their map and compass skills by completing orienteering challenges. Despite their large group size, the students were efficient in the hut kitchen, turning out delicious meals throughout their three day stay. On Wednesday, the group went for a hike up Picked Chicken Hill on the north side of Flagstaff Lake. From the cliffs near the summit, they were treated to spectacular views of the Bigelow Range across Flagstaff Lake.
