Stratton School Visits Flagstaff Lake Hut
Last week, the Stratton School middle school students made their annual fall visit to Flagstaff Lake Hut! After hiking in to the hut, carrying all of their own overnight gear, they enjoyed the perfect early fall weather with canoeing, fishing, swimming, and a variety of outdoor games. Following a delicious pasta dinner, some students played cards in the hut, while others participated in multiple rounds of manhunt outside. After dark, they toasted s’mores by the campfire and told scary stories until lights out.
Having previously visited the hut as sixth and seventh graders, the trip activities were primarily planned and led by the eighth grade students. Stratton School is always one of our favorite groups to host, and we look forward to their return visit next year!
The school’s yearly trips are generously sponsored by Kingfield resident, Tom Hildreth. Are you interested in sponsoring a school or other group of your choosing to visit one of the hut? Contact Sam Shirley for more information.
