Youth & Community Experience Fund

We strive to make our huts accessible to everyone. From mid-May to early November, qualified schools, community organizations, summer camps, and youth groups can receive financial assistance through our Youth & Community Experience Fund for hut stays. Hut stays are private full hut rentals, and are the perfect place-based location for learning while unplugged. Reach out to Sam Shirley, our Youth and Community Program Manager for details and to book.

While our eco-lodges are remote, they offer all the modern amenities you need to stay comfortably. Visit our summer rentals page to see everything our huts have to offer, and the basic pre-discount pricing structure.

Testimonials

“Wabanaki Youth in Science brought together Wabanaki youth together for a week of cultural learning, community building, and connection to the land. The hut offered a place where we could listen to stories, cook together, reflect by the water, and learn from one another surrounded by the beauty of the forest and the waters of Flagstaff Lake. The setting gave our group a rare opportunity to disconnect from the noise of the outside world and reconnect with ourselves, each other, and the land.

Woliwoni – thank you.”

“Apex Youth Connection had a blast at Stratton Brook Hut! The hut was clean, functional, and beautiful. Being in the Carrabassett Valley with our kids was an amazing experience for them- getting them outside and biking on trails in parts of Maine they’ve never been to and getting to ignite their passions of mountain biking- I know it was a life changing experience for them.”

“We took a group of young mountain bikers up to the Stratton Brook Hut as the overnight experience for the Mountain Biking Summer Learning Series. The cabins blew us all away. The participants were excited by the bunk beds and how much room they had to spread out. The fire pit was amazing at night and we kept it going long into the night… Many of the participants enjoyed winding down in the lounge space. There was plenty of comfy couches, puzzles, games, etc to keep them comfortable and occupied. The trails leading up to the hut were well maintained and enjoyable to bike and hike on. There was plenty of space surrounding the hut for the participants to do some sunset biking after dinner. The vista view was a great way to watch the sunset and end the day.”
