Testimonial: Maine Outdoor Adventure Club

“Thank you for yet another (13th annual) Maine Huts weekend for the Maine Outdoor Adventure Club (MOAC). While the club has trips all over the world (two in Europe just in recent weeks), at least one member says this weekend is the quintessential MOAC trip.

We gather to share friendship, food, activites, and a lot of laughs.

This year we had 11 hike Little Bigelow, and many more hike in the area of the hut from the Arnold Trail up to the dam. We had one member, who is an historian, hike the Arnold Trail over to West Carry.

We had four bikes, the most ever, and they roamed the trails.

We had the best paddling experience ever. Three went out and ventured up to the dam. Seldom does the lake in October allow for that. A calm midday Saturday.

There was reading and playing games. There was sitting around the fire pit (thank you for the wood). And THANK YOU for the plaque for the fire pit benches.

We got the weather station back online (still needs a battery on the remote sensor on the roof). We made sure the wood stove wood was restocked. We cleaned up and re-arranged the shelves in the library. We hope we left the place better than we found it (not sure of that was possible though).

Ben and Eliza are perfect hosts.

Thank you, again.” – Peter Mullen
