Fat Bike Ride with CRNEMBA 2026
Maine Huts & Trails recently partnered with Carrabassett Region New England Mountain Bike Association (CRNEMBA) for the 2nd annual winter fat bike ride. The fat bike ride was part of our Free Guided Winter Program series, and saw participants from all over Maine (and even Canada!) join us. Riders cruised the CRNEMBA-maintained singletrack trails that weave off of the Narrow Gauge Pathway, then turned and headed up Maine Hut’s Newton’s Revenge trail towards Stratton Brook Hut. Hot beverages and lunch awaited the crew at the hut, and the ride descended on both the newly groomed Oak Knoll Trail or back down Newton’s.
Conditions were absolutely perfect for the region! Firm packed trails made for fast riding across the entire network. January is proving to be the ideal month for riders in Maine!

CRNEMBA and Maine Huts have a long-standing partnership and comradery, and we are thrilled to be able to bring back the winter ride for year two. For more information on the entire area trails for fat biking and conditions, be sure to visit CRNEMBA and show our friends some love!
