Stratton Brook Hut is an eco-lodge located in the western Maine mountains, offering a sustainable base for outdoor recreation during the summer season. The hut is open on weekends for lunch service, providing a convenient stop for hikers and mountain bikers exploring the surrounding trails. In addition, overnight self-service stays are available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, allowing guests to enjoy a mountain experience with the flexibility of managing their own food provisions in the lodge kitchen. Summer is an ideal time for those seeking some of the region’s best hiking and mountain biking trails.

Summer Overnight Stays at Stratton Brook Hut
Available Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays May 29th to August 30th
Pricing: Adult $87 per person, per night. Youth 12 and under $55 per person, per night. Infants 2 and under are free.
Enjoy a self service overnight stay at our highest elevation lodge! Experience hiking and mountain biking trails from your front door. For self service stays, guests backpack their gear and food in, stay in a private bunkroom and utilize our hut kitchen to prepare their meals. The lodge offers all the amenities of home, with a full kitchen, hot showers, and comfortable couches.

Each group staying the night will get allotted times they can use the kitchen for dinner, breakfast and lunch. For Saturday and Sunday breakfast and lunch, kitchen cooking and prep need to be finished by 10am. If guests do not want to cook, public lunch will be for sale Saturday and Sundays starting June 6th. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, cutting boards, cups, dishes, cutlery, basic oils and spices. Coffee and tea are provided by our sponsor Carrabassett Coffee.

Add a hut visit to your weekend plans! Stratton will be open summer weekends with lunch and beverages available for purchase from 11-2pm. Bathrooms, water refills, and relaxing are always free! Factor our hut into your bike ride or hiking route for a great mid-point break.

Known as a true mountain biking hub, Carrabassett Valley offers an extensive network of purpose-built trails, and the hut sits right in the middle of it all.
Mountain biking in Carrabassett Valley offers flowy descents, technical rock gardens, and scenic forest riding. Trails like Oak Knoll and Upper and Lower Newton’s Revenge are local favorites—Oak Knoll delivers smooth berms and rolling s-turns, while Newton’s Revenge challenges riders with punchy climbs and fast, twisting downhills. Many of these trails connect seamlessly to others in the area, creating long, rewarding loops and climbs through the woods.
