Flagstaff Lake Hut Volunteer Overnight
Our first volunteer overnight of the summer is officially in the books, and it was a great one!
On the morning of June 7th, our crew gathered at the Flagstaff Lake Hut Trailhead and hit the ground running. Volunteers made their way along the Shore Trail, clearing brush and blowdowns as they went. Once the Shore Trail was squared away, the team turned their attention to the Beaver Trail and several smaller sections around the Hut, leaving things tidy and trail-ready for the season ahead.

Summer was in full swing, and the natural world made sure everyone knew it. The trails were lined with gorgeous Lady Slippers and a host of other wildflowers in bloom.

As the day wound down, volunteers traded their tools for paddles and headed out on Flagstaff Lake for an evening paddle. The sunset over the water was the perfect send-off to a productive day. From there, it was back to the lodge for a well-earned overnight stay.

Morning came in spectacular fashion. Crystal-clear skies made for an unforgettable sunrise paddle on the lake before the crew reconvened for the day’s main project: assembling the new snowmobile shelter. The task called for many hands, and this group delivered. Great progress was made in an impressive time. By the time volunteers packed up and headed out, the spirits were high and the work was done.

Thank you to everyone who came out and gave their time to help care for these trails and this place. Events like this one are only possible because of people like you. Interested in joining us at a volunteer event? See what we have coming up!
