Winter 2026/2027 Season Announcement
Maine Huts & Trails is excited to announce our winter 26/27 season! The snow will fly before long, and we’ll be ready with warm fires, hearty meals, and miles of trail to explore.
Season Dates
Our winter season runs December 26th through March 21st. Stratton Brook, Poplar Stream, and Flagstaff Lake Huts will be open every day, each staffed by a crew of winter hut staff who live onsite all season.
- Stratton Brook Hut and Poplar Stream Hut: open through March 14th
- Flagstaff Lake Hut: open through March 21st
Book Your Trip
Public trip bookings open October 5th at 10am, online at mainehuts.org and by phone. Winter trips are popular, so mark your calendar!
We’re offering both full-service and self-service trips, so you can choose the level of hut comfort that suits your group. Get Out on the Trails
Our trails are open for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and winter fat biking. Once there’s enough snow, we’ll groom the Maine Hut Trail, so watch for updates as conditions develop.
Stop In for Lunch
Not staying overnight? Join us for public lunches at the huts every Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 2pm. It’s a great way to make a day of it, whether you’re skiing, snowshoeing, or biking in.
Winter Events Coming Soon
Stay tuned for more information about our winter events. We’re bringing back the Free Guided Program Series and our famous Alpine Feast culinary event. Details are coming soon, so subscribe to our email list and keep an eye on your inbox and our website.
Your Trip Makes a Difference
Proceeds from our winter season go directly back into the organization. They help keep our huts open during the summer and fund visits for youth and community groups, so every winter trip helps more people experience the huts and trails.
