Join us at Flagstaff Lake Hut on the evening of February 7th for a winter tree identification workshop. Maine Master Naturalist Erin Cunningham will talk about about winter ecology and what the trees have been doing all year to get ready for winter. We’ll dive into identification by looking closely at patterns in bark and buds. When you leave, you will have the tools that you need to identify several trees that can be found around the huts and throughout the state. This workshop is open to all experience levels, especially novices. Both adults and families with children are welcome.
When: February 7th @ 5pm
Where: Flagstaff Lake Hut. Park at the Flagstaff Trailhead and trek in 2 miles on the groomed Maine Hut Trail.
Other Details: Bring a headlamp to light your way back to the trailhead!
No dogs please.
