Our eco-lodge is open during our winter and summer seasons for day visitors and cozy overnight stays. In the winter, the hut is open daily. During the summer, Stratton Brook Hut is open to the public on weekends and for full hut rentals all week long.
During our summer season, hike or bike up to the hut on select weekends to enjoy a freshly prepared lunch, refill a water bottle, or just relax in one of our lounge chairs. Overnight summer guests can book self-service stays in private bunkrooms on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.
During the winter season, day visitors on Saturdays and Sundays can enjoy delicious soups, sandwiches, sweets, and hot and cold beverages from 12:00–2:00 p.m. Overnight winter guests can choose full-service trips on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (all meals included and optional gear shuttles) or self-service trips (no gear shuttles and you bring your own food) on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.

Staying at Stratton Brook Hut
When you visit Stratton Brook Hut, you will stay in comfort. The hut has hot water, heat, indoor plumbing, a full commercial kitchen, cozy great room, private bunkrooms and electricity. Bunkrooms are kept at temperatures around 55°F during winter and we ask that lights be turned off whenever you leave a room. Be prepared for limited access to power outlets, though there is cellphone service. We put a heavy focus on conservation of resources.
Except for full hut rentals, all rooms at the huts are booked as private accommodations, with 10 bunkrooms available at Stratton Brook Hut. We do not book shared rooms with other groups.
Please bring a pair of shoes or heavy socks to wear inside when you take off your trail shoes and boots. Removing outside shoes helps us keep the hut clean and ready all our guests.
Getting Here
Guests at Stratton Brook Hut are rewarded for their ascent with some of the best views on our trail network. The Route 27/Stratton Brook Trailhead offers the shortest route up via Newton’s Revenge Trail, while the Airport Trailhead via Crommett’s Overlook Trail offers a scenic and less steep option. Guests using the gear shuttle in winter should leave from the Airport Trailhead.
All huts are accessible by our trail network by using people-powered modes of transportation like biking, hiking, skiing, fat biking or snowshoeing. We have put together a list of driving directions to the closest trailhead for each hut and the best trail route to get you the rest of the way.
Special Thanks to Our Donors
Maine Huts & Trails would like to offer its special thanks to Clem and Rolande Begin for making this hut possible.
