Volunteer with us!
Volunteers ~ Our Unsung Heroes
We are always looking for motivated individuals, families, and groups that wish to be more involved with our organization! Volunteers are a key component to our success. Needs vary by the season, we usually offer winter hut caretaking training in the fall, winter overnight caretaking and volunteering in winter, and trail work and wood stacking in the summer.
Current Winter Needs
Winter caretaking at the huts on self-service days: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays
What is winter caretaking? Our volunteers stay at the huts on self-service days and help fuel our wood-fired heating system, clean common areas, answer self-service guest questions, and support our hut staff on their days off. At least one hut staff will always be present for support. Enjoy a cozy stay in the snowy backcountry, and support our organization at the same time!
Friday, December 15th: Optional volunteer overnight at Flagstaff Lake Hut
Saturday, December 16th: 12-4PM winter caretaker training/refresher course at Flagstaff Hut
Please RSVP here if you plan on attending the training day and the overnight.
Friday, December 15th to Thursday, December 21st: Preseason caretaker hut warmup (no guests or staff, you are on your own!).
December 27th - March 20th: Winter Self-Service caretaking Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays at Stratton Brook, Poplar Stream, and Flagstaff Lake Huts. Caretakers stay free in any open bunkroom, and bring in and cook their own meals.
