Thanks to your generous support through our winter season, we are able to open our doors during the rest of the year to school and community groups that may not otherwise be able to experience western Maine’s mountains, forests, and waters through immersive backcountry experiences. Please join us for a winter stay between late December and mid March to help us continue making an impact.

Help me choose a hut.

Single hut stays keep you at the same hut for the whole trip. Hut-to-Hut trips will have you staying at a different hut each night of your trip. Help me choose a hut.

How many nights will you be staying with us? Hut-to-Hut trips must be more than one night.

Cancellation Policy

Please note, we don’t close the huts for inclement weather (we love big snowstorms!) Due to the remote nature of the huts and the advanced planning needs, we follow a strict cancellation policy. Cancellations are fully refundable up to 15 days before the trip. Reservations cancelled within 14 days of the trip are non-refundable and cannot be modified or rescheduled.

Groups of 10 or larger require a 25% non-refundable deposit, and follow the current cancellation policy for the remainder.

While we understand weather, road, trail conditions and health issues can be challenging, please note that our cancellation policy remains unchanged. For those with concerns, you may wish to consider travel insurance.
