I have been to Maine Huts & Trails several times and have visited all of the huts. The experience has been great every time, including this last one. It is fantastic to have such a place almost in my backyard.

The team of caretakers at the hut were phenomenal. They were welcoming, kind, hospitable, and charming. The food was delish and the accommodations comfortable. The notes provided pre-trip (I.e. We were expecting a huge blizzard and -10. The snow never came and neither did most of the other guests so we had a wonderfully quiet visit. The staff, facilities and food were all excellent and we will be back.

Overall the experience was excellent. We particularly enjoyed the trails and your setting. The lodges and amenities as well were excellent. Re the sleeping rooms, these were quite satisfactory. I personally do not love sharing bunk rooms with strangers, but understand the need to have that arrangement in a remote back country setting. As bunk […]
