Winter Trip Availability

Each season, Maine Huts & Trails offers nightly stays and full hut rentals at our eco-lodges. Cross country ski, snowshoe, or fat bike to our three lodges for a winter backcountry experience, hike, bike or trail run in the summer. Book winter through the step-by-step process below. 2026-2027 Winter Pricing

Full-Service (Thursday – Sunday nights):
  • December 26th – January 17th: Adults $140 per person, per night, Youth (12 and under*) $80 per person, per night.
  • January 21st – February 28th: Adults $155 per person, per night, Youth (12 and under) $95 per person, per night.
  • March 4th – March 21st**: Adults $140 per person, per night, Youth (12 and under) $80 per person, per night.
Self-Service (Monday – Wednesday nights):
  • December 28th – March 17th**: Adults $90 per person, per night, Youth (12 and under) $55 per person, per night.

* Infants 0-2 years old are free. Please reach out if an infant is in your group.

** Stratton Brook and Poplar Stream Huts will be closing on March 14th. Flagstaff Lake Hut will be open until March 21st.

We are only offering single hut trips the first week of the season, due to historically variable snow conditions.

Gear shuttles will be offered  January 7th to March 14th.

We will show you a list of available trips around the time you pick.

Infants age 2 and under are free. Please contact the office if you are including any infants.

Full Service: Offered Thursday through Sunday nights. Hut staff provide dinner, breakfast and lunch.

Self Service: Offered Monday through Wednesday nights. Guests pack in their own food and use the hut kitchen for meals.

Cancellation Policy

Our trails are always free, and our huts are open everyday during the winter season. Due to the remote nature of the huts and the advanced planning needs, we follow a strict cancellation policy. Please note, we don’t close the huts for inclement weather, including cold temperatures, snow, or rain.

Winter

Reservations under 10 people are refundable up to 15 days before the trip. Reservations within 14 days of the trip are non-refundable and cannot be modified or rescheduled.

Groups of 10 or larger require a 25% deposit at time of booking, and the remainder is refundable up to 15 days before the trip. Reservations within 14 days of the trip are non-refundable and cannot be modified or rescheduled.

Summer

Full hut rentals require a 25% deposit that is refundable up to 45 days before the trip. Rentals cancelled within 45 days of the stay are non-refundable.

Reservations for individual bunkrooms are refundable up to 15 days before the trip. Reservations within 14 days of the trip are non-refundable and cannot be modified or rescheduled.

Events

Our year-round events are fundraisers for our nonprofit organization. Tickets may be cancelled for a full refund up to 15 days before the event. Cancellations within 14 days of the event are non-refundable and treated as a donation.

 

While we understand weather, road, trail conditions and health issues can be challenging, please note that our cancellation policy remains unchanged. For those with concerns, you may wish to consider travel insurance.
