Free Winter Program Series 24/25
Join Maine Huts & Trails for our free winter outdoors series! Snowshoe, ski, and fat bike on our trails and to a hut with a guide. Offered twice a month on Saturdays, please RSVP so we can plan the group outing.
January 4th: Intermediate Snowshoe Waterfall Loop to Poplar Stream Hut
When & Where: 9:30AM @ Airport Trailhead
Distance: 7 miles
Snowshoe on Larry’s, Warren’s, and the Maine Hut Trail to visit two waterfalls around Poplar Stream Hut. Optional lunch available for purchase at the hut. Led by Maine Hut Guides Sam and Erika.
January 18th: Intermediate Fat Bike Ride with CRNEMBA to Stratton Brook Hut
Details: TBD @ Stratton Brook Hut/RT 27 Trailhead
Distance: 6+ miles
Ride up to Stratton Brook Hut and loop back down via Newton’s Revenge, Crommett’s Overlook, and the Narrow Gauge Pathway trails. Lunch is available at the hut.
February 1st: Beginner Nordic Ski to Flagstaff Lake Hut
When & Where: 11AM @ Flagstaff Hut Trailhead
Distance: 4 miles
Beginner xc ski on the Maine Hut Trail to and from Flagstaff Lake Hut. Optional lunch available for purchase at the hut. Led by Maine Hut Guide Erika.
February 15th: Intermediate Nordic Ski from Campbell Field Trailhead
When & Where: 10AM @ Campbell Field Trailhead
Distance: 6+ miles
Ski loop on Crommett’s Overlook Trail, Newton’s Revenge, and Narrow Gauge Pathway. Optional Stratton Hut visit. Lead by Maine Hut Guide Sam.
March 8th: Beginner Shore Trail Snowshoe from Flagstaff Trailhead
When & Where: 10:30AM @ Flagstaff Hut Trailhead
Distance: 4 miles
Beginner family-friendly snowshoe along Flagstaff Lake to the Hut. Lunches and hot beverages are available for purchase at the hut. Led by Maine Hut Guide Erika.
March 22nd: Tracks and Trees Snowshoe with Registered Maine Guide Bob Duport
When & Where: 11am @ Flagstaff Lake Trailhead
Distance: 4 miles
Snowshoe around Flagstaff Lake Hut and learn about animal track and tree ID. Final weekend of the winter 2025 season! Stop by the hut and purchase a hot lunch or enjoy a cup of coffee.
