Description

Poplar Hut is the easiest hut to access from the Maine Huts &Trails headquarters in Kingfield. Hike through mossy ancient forests, along mountain streams and swimming holes, and past spectacular Poplar Falls; this is the perfect day trip destination.

Winter skiers have a variety of terrain to hone their skills, while snowshoers can access side trails for a waterfall view. Fat biking is also a great option with so many choices for day trips on surrounding trails.

Summer provides easy access to over 50 miles of single track mountain biking trails in Carrabassett Valley, or hiking to one of the 4,000' peaks in the Bigelow Range.

Lunch is open to day visitors from 11:30-1:30 on Saturdays & Sundays during full service season; see more here >>

Maine Huts & Trails would like to offer its special thanks to the New Balance Foundation for making this hut possible.
