Stratton Brook Hut Summer Group Ride

This is an intermediate chill pace, no one is left behind ride! Join Lindsay Currier, a Registered Maine Guide and mountain bike coach. Departing at 10am the ride will start heading down Cooks Corner, a rocky blue that will give you a quick taste of what the beautiful rollable rockwork rides like on many sections of Oak Knoll. We will cross the service road and head down Newton’s a bit to the very top bit of Oak Knoll which is pretty flowy and takes us to the top of Bear. Bear is a ripping flowy run with peeks of the Bigelows, lots of berms and jumps. We will then climb out Approach and back up the top of Newton’s to the hut. This loop is about 3 miles long and 420ft of climbing. Depending who shows up we can take more time on the Bear Loop and session features, talk about line choices or just take in the scenery. If we are moving at a faster pace we will hit Oak Knoll to the bottom and climb back up Newtons. This would add about another 6 miles and 700ft of elevation gain (total approx 9 miles and 1120ft of climbing). If you are not planning on having lunch at the Hut with us, you can leave the group at the bottom of Oak and hit the singletrack along the river and/or cross over 27 at Campbell Field to the trails that surround the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center.
