Autumn is a favorite season to ride bikes here in Maine. With cooler temps, less pesky insects and of course the annual display of fall foliage.
Based out of Flagstaff Hut, this adventure weekend offers a bikepacking specific skills clinic, a long distance non-competitive adventure ride, as well as a bikerafting trip with our friends at Packraft Maine. With packages to stay and eat as well as nearby camping opportunities, we welcome anyone interested in learning more about bikepacking, veterans looking to celebrate the bikepacking community of Maine and of course friends and family who’d like to enjoy a relaxing nature filled weekend at Flagstaff Hut.
Friday, October 6, 2023: Bikepacking Skills Clinic. Gain more confidence packing and handling your bike.
Saturday, October 7, 2023: 100k FUNdo. Experience a range of surfaces from technical double track to smooth gravel to a pinch of pavement. Challenging climbs, fast flats and delightful downhills. This is not a race, but an adventure ride, so enjoy the spectacular scenery as you cruise through forests showing off vivid autumn colors, the sound of the rushing Carrabassett river and glittering lake and mountain views. Registered participants will receive a digital map before the weekend.
Sunday, October 8, 2023: Bikeraft Adventure with Packraft Maine.
Lodging and Meals Packages at Flagstaff Hut include private room or bunk room, HOT SHOWERS and of course lots of great food to keep you fueled. Hut guests also enjoy access to kayaks and canoes, games and more!
