Volunteers ~ Our Unsung Heroes
We are always looking for motivated individuals, families, and groups that wish to be more involved with our organization! Volunteers are a key component to our success. Needs vary by the season, we usually offer winter hut caretaking training in the fall, winter overnight caretaking and volunteering in winter, and trail work and wood stacking in the summer.
Current Opportunities
- September 23-24th, Harvest at the Huts: Weekend help with kitchen, serving, and general hut maintenance at Stratton Brook Hut. Event details here.
- October 1st, Xterra World Trail Running Championships: Aid Station located at Stratton Brook Hut. View here.

Upcoming Trail Work Days
Saturday, June 17th 10:30am: Volunteers will work alongside our maintenance and experienced group leaders to clean up around Poplar Hut. Wood will need to be moved and stacked in the basement, weeds and shrubs trimmed back, the firepit cleaned out, and more. More info here.

Thanks to Carrabassett Region NEMBA and the Town of Carrabassett Valley for their dedication to mountain biking in our area. It is through mutual sponsorship and coordination that we’ve been able to create new trails and establish this area of Maine as a renowned destination for mountain biking.
