Trip Idea: Mountain Bike Endurance Training Loop

Explore some of New England’s best single track terrain on this two night advanced/expert mountain bike trip. Stay trailside at Stratton Brook Hut, and challenge yourself with an exhilarating 50K loop, designed as a training course for the Carrabassett Backcountry Cycle Challenge.

This itinerary is for advanced/expert riders only who can safely spend a full day riding technical terrain, often out of cell phone range. The suggested training loop includes significant elevation gain over many miles, including plenty of black diamond single track. While this is a great way to train for an endurance race, it’s open to anyone ready to put on some serious miles.

Included
Lodging at Stratton Brook Hut for 2 nights, 6 meals

A hot and scrumptious lunch, with a variety of regional craft beer and wine, along with coffee and hot cocoa, will be available for purchase from 11:30 to 1:30.

Following the lunch period, a presentation will be given about Maine's engagement in the sustainable food movement and the dynamic farming practices used in the state's commitment to providing quality, locally sourced food to the coming generations.
