All we ever hear about is the awesome skiing at Mad River Glen or the black ice skating on Lake Champlain. The Vermonters have now experienced what Maine has to offer in terms of winter activity on the MH&T trails and they will be coming back with friends!
The Huts have outdone themselves on this trip. The crew was super-friendly and knowledgable. The evening meal was a spectacular, gourmet feast.
I skied in to Poplar for the night. It was a gorgeous day. Although I thought the ski was a bit of a challenge, it was beautiful. The dinner was outstanding! I have been to huts before and thought the food this time was really great. There was a massage therapist that day at the hut. What a treat! I have two comments. There was no decaf coffee offered and the room was really warm. I was excepting 50 degrees as the website says but it was much warmer than that so my sleeping bag was way too warm. I don't like to complain that it was too warm in the winter but sleeping was a problem. Otherwise, it was perfect!
Another great time. Keep up the good work. Very comfortable accomodations.
Only thing not making this experience a 5 was the 2 couples that slept with us at poplar. There was plenty of room for our group of 4 to be separated. Men got up to go to the bathroom, cold door inconsiderate talking etc. next time I'll ask for my group to have their own bunk room.
Great time great food and overall great atmosphere
